Week Two Small Group Discussion

Group Tip Of The Week

If possible, share a meal together as a group at least once during this study. Fellowship over a good meal has a way of bonding us together in a very special way, especially if we are intentional to really listen to one another.

Reflection Questions

• How did God use the things that were out of your control in your childhood to mold and shape you?

• What did God deposit in and through your early years that is now bearing fruit in your life and ministry?

• Have you ever felt like God gave you a dream and you have yet to see it fulfilled? How does the story of Joseph encourage you with this?

• Read Galatians 6:9. How does this verse relate to today’s story? How does it relate to you?

• Think of a time when you experienced conflict in your childhood. Looking back, how has God used that conflict for your good and His glory?

• What can we learn from the way Joseph’s brothers treated him?

• Read 2 Peter 3:8-9. What do we learn about God’s timing? How do we see God’s patience manifested?

• Read John 2:1-11. Mary, the mother of Jesus, had the very best intentions for Jesus, Yet Jesus knew to wait on the Father, as His time to be revealed had not come. Reflect on a time you jumped ahead of God. What lessons did God teach you through this?

• Why did God allow Joseph to go through such turmoil?

• How have you allowed God to use your pain as a connector with another whose life is in shambles?

• In what ways can you use your story to spread the love and faithfulness of Jesus?
