Monday Prayer
Welcome to daily prayer. This week we are reflecting on the LORD as Yahweh Shalom--the LORD is Peace. Today we reflect on Yahweh’s everlasting faithfulness-He is the rock eternal. He promises perfect peace when our minds and hearts are steadfastly set on him.
As we enter prayer now, let’s quiet our hearts and minds before the LORD.
Surrender
LORD, I focus on you and trust in you.
I surrender my restless thoughts and divided heart. I surrender control.
I rest in your presence and receive your peace.
LORD, I give everyone and everything to you.
O LORD, open up my lips and my mouth will declare your praise.
A Scripture Reading from Isaiah 26:3-4
You will keep in perfect peace
those whose minds are steadfast,
because they trust in you.
Trust in Yahweh forever,
for Yahweh, Yahweh himself, is the Rock eternal.
A Prayer of Adoration:
Yahweh, I worship you as the Rock eternal. You are the God who brings order to chaos and calm to the storm. Your presence is my hope. I love that we can experience peace before you have brought about peace in a situation. You will ultimately bring the fullness of peace when you come again but you sustain your people in the midst of trouble. I don’t always know what you are doing but I know what you are like—you are trustworthy and good. Your perfect peace strengthens my soul and guards my heart and for that, I worship you.
A Prayer of Confession:
LORD, I confess that I have allowed distractions, doubts, and fears to pull me away from you. I am often divided. You are whole and complete and lack nothing. Forgive me for trusting in my own understanding and seeking peace on my terms without yielding to you. I acknowledge that I cannot have your peace without surrender. Cleanse my mind from fear and doubt, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
A Prayer of Trust:
LORD, today I acknowledge that you are my LORD and my Rock and I fix my gaze on you. You are my strength and my refuge. I trust that as I keep my mind and heart on you, you will guard me and sustain me in hope. You will direct me path. I trust you LORD.
A Prayer of Intercession:
LORD, would you give your perfect peace to your people:
-To hearts troubled by fear or uncertainty.
-To relationships that are strained or broken.
-Into communities searching for healing and justice.
May the name of Jesus be exalted in our community as we trust you and follow your ways. May your peace bring clarity, strength, and hope.
A Moment of Reflection:
Take a deep breath.
Picture yourself placing all your fears, plans and burdens before the Lord and trusting him with them.
Hear His promise:
“I will keep you in perfect peace as you trust in me.”
Everything else may change, but the LORD remains the same. He is steadfast and faithful.
You will keep in perfect peace
those whose minds are steadfast,
because they trust in you.
Trust in Yahweh forever,
for Yahweh, Yahweh himself, is the Rock eternal.
A Closing Prayer
LORD, you are the everlasting Rock. I trust you. Thank you that your presence and peace are available in the midst of the trials and difficulties I am facing. Thank you for your faithfulness and strength. Help me fix my heart and mind on you. May your peace guard me, strengthen me, and guide me today. May the name of Jesus be honored and glorified.
In his name we pray,
Amen.
