Friday Prayer

Nov 14, 2025

Welcome to daily prayer. This week we have reflected on the LORD as Yahweh Tsidkenu. Today we rejoice that because of the righteousness of Christ, we have received a great and precious faith with great and precious promises.

As we enter prayer now, let’s quiet our hearts and minds before the LORD.

LORD, I want to keep the main thing the main thing. You are the main thing.

Your kingdom.

Your righteousness, peace and joy in the Spirit

Your goodness and glory.

I fix my eyes on you. I set aside everything grabbing for my attention. I give everyone and everything to you.

O LORD, open my lips and my mouth will declare your praise.

A Scripture Reading from 2 Peter 1:1-4:

To those who through the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ have received a faith as precious as ours:

Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.

His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.

A Prayer of Adoration:

Lord Jesus, you are my God and Savior. You have made your glory and your goodness known to us. It is through your righteousness that we have been given this precious faith that we receive. What a gift. You deserve all the praise.

LORD, you have made abundant grace and peace available to all who believe. You have given us everything we need.

You pour out grace, peace, and power as we grow in our knowledge of you. As we learn to believe your promises, you powerfully work in our lives. You have enabled us to escape the corruption of this world and given us access to your divine life. For all the goodness you have shown me, I adore you.

A Prayer of Confession:

Lord, you call me to grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus. I confess that I often forget your grace instead of growing in grace. I forget that you have brought me into your family and cleansed me of my sin. I have been nearsighted and have not maintained my focus on you.

I have tolerated and even at times desired friendship with the world. I forget the power and deception of sin and the judgement that is coming on this world. Lord, forgive me. I acknowledge my need for you and my consistent need to be reminded of the truth.

A Prayer of Trust:

Righteous Lord, I trust that you have called me because of your own glory and goodness and not because I deserve it. I receive your grace. I trust that your promises are true. You are righteous and faithful and if you promise, you will deliver. You are a refuge and a rescuer for me in trials. I trust that as I draw near to you and grow in my knowledge of you and your promises, that I will experience more and more of your grace and peace. God, I look to you for life.

A Prayer of Intercession:

My Righteous Savior, I pray for your church. You have called us out of darkness and into light. We want to grow in our knowledge of you. Would you give us a spirit of wisdom and revelation to know you better.

Would you inspire and empower teachers and parents to impart a deeper understanding of your nature and promises to those in their care.

May we be a people who never forget that you have cleansed us from our sins. May we be a people who remove every obstacle and make every effort to grow and be transformed by your grace. You are worthy of all our love.

A Moment of Reflection:

Lord, in this season is there anything that is capturing my attention or affection more than knowing you?

Lord, I lay it down before you. I want to be transformed by your grace.

A Closing Prayer:

Righteous LORD and Savior, hank you for calling me your own. Thank you for giving me everything I need for life with you.

In keeping with your promise, we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells. Help us cultivate an eternal perspective LORD. Thank you that there is a rich welcome into your kingdom to all who trust in you. You deserve all the glory and praise.

In the name of Jesus,

Amen
