Monday Prayer
Welcome to daily prayer. This week we are reflecting on the LORD as Yahweh Tsidkenu which means the LORD, our righteousness. Today we rejoice that righteousness and justice are the foundation of God's throne. His way is the way of love and faithfulness.
As we enter prayer now, let’s quiet our hearts and minds before the LORD.
LORD, I set aside everything grabbing for my attention.
I trust that the righteous will live by faith and so I look to you for life.
I entrust myself to you.
LORD, I give everyone and everything to you.
O Lord, open my lips and my mouth will declare your praise.
A Scripture Reading from Psalm 89:14-16:
Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne;
love and faithfulness go before you.
Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim you,
who walk in the light of your presence, Yahweh.
They rejoice in your name all day long;
they celebrate your righteousness.
A Prayer of Adoration:
Righteous LORD, you are holy, loving, and good. All your ways are right and you always keep your promises. Joy and blessing come from walking in your presence. I worship you, LORD, for your steadfast love and faithfulness. You are always good. You can be trusted. I praise you, LORD, for being my strength, my glory, and my Righteous Savior. Your love endures forever.
A Prayer of Confession:
LORD, forgive me for the times I have chosen my own way over yours. I have resisted your authority and not walked by the light of your Word-- I’ve called wrong things right and lived by my own standards instead of yours. This was wrong and I repent. Without your mercy, I would be lost. I surrender to you. Guide me in the path of righteousness for your Name's sake.
A Prayer of Trust:
LORD, I trust in you and not in my own strength. You are my source of righteousness and I rest in your acceptance and grace. I trust that your ways are right and good and I will abide in you and walk by the light of your Word and Spirit.
A Prayer of Intercession:
LORD, strengthen your church to act with integrity, mercy, and faithfulness. Bring conviction where wrong has been done and comfort and healing where we have been wounded.
Keep us from self righteousness and pride and let us act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly before you. Lord, we acknowledge that without you, we can do nothing.
A Moment of Reflection:
Jesus, you are the Righteous King. Where do I need to align my choices with your righteous and loving ways today?
LORD, I entrust myself to you. Cultivate within me a hunger and thirst for your righteousness.
Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne;
love and faithfulness go before you.
Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim you,
who walk in the light of your presence, Yahweh.
They rejoice in your name all day long;
they celebrate your righteousness.
A Closing Prayer:
Righteous LORD, You are my righteousness and my strength. I acclaim you as God. May we rejoice in your name, walk in your light, and honor you in all that we do.
In the name of Jesus, the Righteous One, we pray,
Amen
