Friday Prayer

Oct 31, 2025

Welcome to daily prayer. This week we are reflecting on the LORD as Yahweh Shalom which means the LORD is Peace. Today we reflect on the peace of Christ.

As we begin our prayer now, let’s quiet our hearts and minds before the Lord.

Lord, you are the rescuer and ruler of my life.

May your peace be a guard and guardian in my heart, deciding what stays and what goes. I set aside everything grabbing for my attention and look to you for life.

I give everyone and everything to you.

A Scripture reading from Colossians 3:13-16:

“Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone.

Forgive as the Lord forgave you.

And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.

Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly…”

A Prayer of Adoration:

LORD, you are the Prince of Peace. You established peace by bearing our burdens and giving your life so that we could be forgiven of our sins. For that, I adore you.

You call us your dearly loved children and call us to reflect your character to one another as a united family. To patiently and compassionately bear with each other and forgive one another. Your peace reigns in our hearts as we remind each other of the gospel, as we we sing about your goodness, and as we live a life of love. Jesus, I worship you for making it possible to experience forgiveness, healing and life.

A Prayer of Confession:

Lord, there are many times I’ve let anxiety, irritation, or fear lead and rule my decisions. Forgive me. Lord, forgive me for not recognizing my role in maintaining and guarding the peace that you gave your life for us to experience. Your peace is not just an idea but a gift and a way of life. I acknowledge that I am called to let your peace rule in my heart.

A Prayer of Trust:

Lord, I trust that your peace will sustain me no matter the difficulty I face. I can stop protecting myself and sacrificially love others because I know that you will be with me.

I trust that in spite of all the little deaths I experience on the path of peace, you provide resurrection life.

A Prayer of Intercession:

Lord, teach us how to maintain and protect the peace you have provided for us.

Lord, I pray for all those who have been wounded and wronged this week. Strengthen and uphold them. Give them grace to bear with and forgive those who have wronged them.

I pray for your people who have sinned against others this week. May they be quick to repent and seek reconciliation. In all these things, I pray that you would be honored and we would be thankful for your grace.

A Moment of Reflection:

Lord, would you show me any relationship where I have tolerated division and conflict and have not repented, forgiven or sought reconciliation?

Lord, I want your peace to rule my heart. I surrender this offense and pain to you and I thank you for not holding my sins against me.

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.

A Closing Prayer:

Lord, I thank you for laying down your life for us. Thank you for the gift of peace and the example that you’ve given of the way of peace. May we remind one another of your goodness by the way we treat each other. May we be a thankful people who gladly sing of your sacrificial love and goodness. Lord, we adore you.

In the name of Jesus,

Amen
