Friday Prayer

Oct 24, 2025

Welcome to daily prayer. This week we have been reflecting on the LORD as Yahweh Rohi, the LORD, my Shepherd. Today, we rejoice that the Lamb who was slain is our eternal Shepherd—who will lead us forever to springs of living water.

As we begin our prayer now, let’s quiet our hearts and minds before the LORD.

A Prayer of Surrender

LORD, I come before You with gratitude and awe. You are my Shepherd and my King. I surrender every anxiety, every longing, and every fear to Your care. I rest in the promise that You will shelter me forever in Your presence.

I give everyone and everything to You.

O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth will declare Your praise.

A Scripture Reading from Revelation 7:15–17

“Therefore, they are before the throne of God

and serve him day and night in his temple;

and he who sits on the throne will shelter them with his presence.

Never again will they hunger;

never again will they thirst.

The sun will not beat down on them,

nor any scorching heat.

For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd;

he will lead them to springs of living water.

And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”

A Prayer of Adoration

LORD Jesus, I adore You—the Lamb who is my Shepherd. You rule from the throne with compassion and strength. You are the Shepherd who leads me to living waters. You satisfy every hunger and thirst of my soul. You are my refuge, my joy, and my eternal home. All glory belongs to you.

A Prayer of Confession

Forgive me, Lord, for living as though this world were my home. Forgive me for chasing lesser comforts when you alone can satisfy my heart. Too often I forget the promise of your eternal care and become anxious, weary, or self-reliant. Cleanse me from doubt and distraction, and renew in me a longing for your Presence above all else.

A Prayer of Trust

Lamb of God and Shepherd of my soul, I trust that you are leading me even now toward the springs of living water. You are with me in sorrow, and You will one day wipe away every tear. I rest in your promise that nothing can separate me from your love.

A Prayer of Intercession

Lord, I pray for those who are weary, grieving, or wandering in the wilderness. Shelter them in Your presence. Lead them to the waters of life. Comfort those who mourn and restore those who have lost hope. Bring peace to your people and cause us to long together for the day when every tear will be wiped away and all things made new.

A Moment of Reflection

Lord, what longing in my heart are you inviting me to bring to you today?

Am I thirsting for something only You can satisfy?

I trust in you, my eternal Shepherd.

Lord, I look to you to provide what I need.

A Scripture Reading from Revelation 7:15–17

“Therefore, they are before the throne of God

and serve him day and night in his temple;

and he who sits on the throne will shelter them with his presence.

Never again will they hunger;

never again will they thirst.

The sun will not beat down on them,

nor any scorching heat.

For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd;

he will lead them to springs of living water.

And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”

A Closing Prayer

Lamb of God, my Shepherd and my King, I thank You for Your faithful care and everlasting love. You are leading me toward life, joy, and the glory of Your presence. Until that day when every tear is wiped away, help me to follow You closely and to trust You fully.

In the name of Jesus,

Amen.
