Tuesday Prayer

Sep 23, 2025

Welcome to Daily Prayer. This week we are reflecting on the names El Elyon and El Shaddai. El Elyon means God Most High and El Shaddai means God Almighty, the All-Sufficient One. Today we rest in the truth that El Shaddai is faithful to his promises and appears when we need him the most.

As we begin our prayer now, let’s quiet our hearts and minds before the Lord.

Lord Almighty, I offer you my doubts and my impatience today.

I give everyone and everything to you.

Lord, open my lips and my mouth will declare your praise

A Scripture Reading from Genesis 17:1

“When Abram was ninety-nine years old,

the Lord appeared to him and said,

‘I am El Shaddai;

walk before me faithfully and be blameless.”

A Prayer of Adoration

El Shaddai, You are a promise maker and a promise keeper. At 75 years old, you called Abram to risk it all—to leave his country and his people and trust in you. You promised to bless him and to bless the world through him. I adore you that 24 years later, despite all the ways that Abram missed the mark and many seasons of disappointment, you visited him and reminded him of who you are—The Almighty and All-Sufficient One ((Gen. 12:4; 17:1). I praise you that you are able to do what you promise to do. Nothing is too hard for You.

A Prayer of Confession

Lord, forgive me when I doubt your promises or try to make things happen in my own strength. I confess my impatience and lack of faith. I need to be reminded of who you are.

A Prayer of Trust

I trust You, Almighty God, to keep your promises at the right time. I trust that even when I don’t see it, you are working and you are able to do what you promise. You are the All-Sufficient One and Your Word never fails.

A Prayer of Intercession

Strengthen the faith of those waiting on you today—those longing for healing, for provision, for reconciliation, for guidance. You call us to keep the faith despite long seasons of difficulty. I pray for those who are desperate and trying to escape the pain or disappointment. Remind them that you are El Shaddai, all-sufficient and faithful. May they rest in your Name today.

A Moment of Reflection

Lord, you are El Shaddai. Where in my life do I need to be reminded that you are the Almighty and All-Sufficient One?

Lord, I entrust this area of my life to you today.

Genesis 17:1

“When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to him and said, ‘I am El Shaddai; walk before me faithfully and be blameless.”

A Closing Prayer

El Shaddai, you are the Almighty God. Just as you called Abram to keep the faith and not give up, you are calling me to trust in you today. I make my home in your shelter. I rest in your Name. I choose to walk before you today in faith.

In the name of Jesus,

Amen.
