Wednesday Prayer

Oct 1, 2025

Welcome to daily prayer. This week we are reflecting on God as El Roi, which means “the God who sees me”. Today we rest in the truth that El Roi actively watches over all, supporting the faithful and judging evil, and nothing escapes his gaze.

As we begin our prayer now, let’s quiet our hearts and minds before the Lord.

Lord, I come to you knowing that nothing escapes your notice. I surrender my fears, my scheming, and my desire to control. You see all things and you are the righteous judge of all the earth.

I give every fear and every anxiety to you. I give everyone and everything to you.

O Lord, open my lips and my mouth will declare your praise.

A Scripture Reading from Proverbs 15:3

The eyes of the Lord are in every place,

keeping watch on the evil and the good.

A Prayer of Adoration

Lord, I adore You as El Roi, the God whose eyes are everywhere. You see every heart, every hidden struggle, every act of faith or deception. You see the wickedness of the proud and the hidden kindness of the humble. You are not distant, but actively watching. I worship you for your wisdom, your justice, and your mercy to those who trust you.

A Prayer of Confession

Lord, forgive me for the times I act as if you are blind, as if you do not see my sin, the sins of others, or the plans of the wicked. Forgive me for my fear, anxiety, or impatience when I forget that your eyes are watching for your glory and the good of those who love you.

A Prayer of Trust

El Roi, I trust that you see me fully- my fears, my joys, my struggles -and that you are actively at work in my life. I trust that you will ultimately judge all evil and you will do it with perfect righteousness and justice through Jesus Christ our Lord. I rest in your watchfulness, knowing that you guide and uphold me, even when I cannot see the full picture.

A Prayer of Intercession

Lord, watch over your people. Protect them from harm, guide them in wisdom, and surround them with your faithful care.

Expose evil, restrain those who would do harm, and bring them to a place of repentance and faith in you.

Give your church courage and wisdom to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly before you.

A Moment of Reflection

Holy Spirit, who do you want me to see that is in need of encouragement, support, or a word of correction?

Help me to reflect your watchful love.

Proverbs 15:3

”The eyes of the Lord are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good."

A Closing Prayer

Lord, I rejoice that you are watching over your people in the midst of difficulty and are able to bring about good in the midst of the worst evil. Nothing escapes your gaze. You reward our hidden acts of love and you will bring discipline and judgement to all evil. Thank you for the mercy and forgiveness you offer to all who repent and trust in Christ. May your kingdom come and your will be done. We take refuge in the God who sees and saves today.

In the name of Jesus,

Amen.
