Indwelling Hope
----
John 1:14
The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
During this season especially, we reflect on the wonder that the eternal Son of God
“became flesh and blood and moved into the neighborhood” (The Message). He entered our broken world, lived and walked among us, and even ate with us. Jesus, the God of all Hope, became our Indwelling Hope. He came near and displayed faith in human form. The One who spoke galaxies into being became a man, trusting His Father completely, all the way to the cross. His perfect faith became both our model and our means of hope.
Have you ever thought about what is possible through faith? In Hebrews 11:33–35, we read of “heroes of faith” who conquered kingdoms, administered justice, and gained what was promised; who shut the mouths of lions, quenched the fury of the flames, and escaped the edge of the sword; whose weakness was turned to strength.
In Hebrews 12, we’re urged to picture ourselves surrounded by these heroes—witnesses cheering us on as we run the race. Our greatest encouragement is Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. He endured the cross and its shame for the joy set before Him. He suffered opposition from sinners. Consider Him, so that you will not grow weary and lose hope.
Among the unreached, Christmas is quiet—a day like any other. Few know why Christmas matters, and many believers celebrate in secret. It’s during these quiet celebrations that we, His Body in unreached nations, remember Jesus—the ultimate Pioneer of faith—so we do not grow tired or lose hope. We remind ourselves that He now dwells in us through His Spirit. He strengthens our faith—especially in the hardest and quietest places.
In the Horn of Africa, we love to celebrate Jesus. We often take communion as a family throughout the week. When Christmas comes, we gather with other workers and local believers in gratitude and joy. We invite you, especially during this Advent season, to join with the persecuted Body in giving Jesus daily focus—turning our affections toward Him, rejoicing, and proclaiming what He has done among our families, friends, and communities.
PRAYER
Heavenly Father, remind us of Jesus. Reveal Him to us. Fill us with faith! As we consider Jesus, our Indwelling Hope, may we be encouraged in our faith. As we celebrate You this season, consider us—Your Body in every nation and tribe. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

We’ve been working as a family in the Horn of Africa among the unreached for 10 years. We have started a social business that works to serve the rural poor through land regeneration and by providing clean water to vulnerable communities.
How to be involved:
• Pray for the persecuted Bride among unreached nations.
• Pray for the Lord to make disciples of Jesus that are strong in faith and full of His grace.
• Pray for workers to make the most of the time- to be full of courage and joy.
We pray the same for you!
Let your light shine before all men so that people will glorify your Father in heaven!
