• Read 1 John 4:9-11 •

Luke 2:10–11

And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.”

PREPARING FOR GOOD NEWS

When you know someone special is coming to your home—especially during the holidays—you begin preparing for their arrival. You want everything to be just right!

When The Storehouse is having a sale, we also prepare—hoping to share as much hope, peace, joy, and love as possible with everyone who walks through our doors.

The Christmas season is so busy, isn’t it? There’s the hanging of wreaths and garlands, decorating trees, and shopping for presents. May we never become so busy preparing the outside that we neglect the most important part- preparing our hearts.

SHARING THE GOOD NEWS

The Storehouse Thrift Store is called to share this good news with all those in our community—and with people around the world.

As we prepare to showcase the many generous donations from our community, may we pause and reflect on the ways we want to prepare our hearts in the right way. This Advent season, let’s focus not just on decorating, buying, or giving, but on sharing the unfailing love of Christ with everyone who comes through our doors. There are so many simple yet meaningful ways we can all do this- by stopping to truly listen, hearing someone’s story, pausing to pray with someone who asks, or taking a moment to let someone know you see them, hear them, and that they matter.

PRAYER:

Lord, as we’ve pulled out the bins filled with Christmas decorations and prepared our homes, may we also prepare our hearts and spirits to make the Good News come alive during this special season. Fill us with Your unfailing love so that everything we do—at home, at work, and wherever we are— reflects the love of Christ. Amen

The Storehouse was established in 2012 as a ministry of Heritage Church. Through the generosity of our donors, the loyalty of our customers, and the dedication of our faithful volunteers, we’re able to serve individuals and organizations in our community and support missionaries around the world. We’re more than a thrift store—we’re family, a place to belong, and a way to make an impact together.

You can support The Storehouse by volunteering, donating, or shopping!
