WEEK TWO - PEACE

Present Peace

Matthew 6:33

But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

The kingdom of God can be viewed in many ways, but one consistent attribute is His presence—everywhere, at every moment. Where God is, there is love, wisdom, and power. Yet we often add the problem of time to the equation: our minds cling to past regrets or future fears, and that attachment keeps us from experiencing His presence and His peace in the present moment.

Why are we rushed? Why are we worried? Why are we troubled? Because we have removed ourselves from the moment we are actually living in. In this moment—and in every moment that follows—God loves you more deeply than anyone can comprehend. He has the wisdom to know exactly what you need, and He has the power to provide it.

Remember that for those who love God, all things work together for good (Romans 8:28). Really think about His love for you. Really think about His wisdom for you. Really think about His power for you.

The peace may last only one second, but that one second is hope and rest. It is one second of faith and strength. One second to breathe and stand in the presence of God Almighty—the Creator of heaven and earth, your Father, Savior, and Friend. That single second matters.

When you enter into His love, wisdom, and power, you enter into His kingdom of peace. This is the peace that comes when we stop chasing time and start resting in the One who holds time. It is the peace of the present—quiet, steady, and sure.

For every boot of the tramping warrior in battle tumult and every garment rolled in blood will be burned as fuel for the fire. For to us a child is born, to us a Son is given; and the government shall be upon His shoulder, and His name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Isaiah 9:5-6

Prayer:

Lord, help me to rest in Your presence today- to trust Your love, Your wisdom, and Your power. Remind me to walk in the peace of Your kingdom, one moment at a time. Amen

IAM is working in the remote mountain communities of Honduras and also on the Honduran coastal region.

In the mountains, water comes from pools or small streams, and in coastal communities, it comes from shallow, ten-foot-deep hand-dug wells.

Our team works with local pastors to arrange meetings with local communities in school rooms or in churches. We provide hands on instruction on use and maintenance of the filters before sending them home.

These families greatly appreciate their children having clean water for drinking. The rainy season is no longer a period of time each year when the children have many sick days.
