Wednesday - Crossing the Threshold
Welcome to Daily Prayer. Today we finish well the year 2025, looking to the days ahead with hope and anticipation.
SCRIPTURE
Isaiah 43:19
This is what the Lord says…“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?”
WORD OF ENCOURAGEMENT
Today is the final page of the year — a day both sacred and significant. It is a threshold day, a place where the past and the future gently touch. It is a moment to look back with honesty, to look around with gratitude, and to look forward with expectancy. For everything that has happened this year — the blessings, the burdens, the unseen battles, and the quiet victories — one truth stands unshaken: God has walked with you through all of it.
On this last day, God invites you to pause, breathe, and remember. Remember how He carried you when you were weary. Remember how He provided when resources felt thin. Remember how He comforted you when your heart felt stretched or broken. And remember how He whispered hope in moments that felt uncertain. His hand has been steady. His love has been constant. His purposes have been unfolding—even in the places you still don’t understand.
Isaiah 43:19 reminds you that God is already preparing something new— something good, something purposeful, something life-giving. Even if you can’t yet perceive it, He is moving. He is shaping new opportunities, new strength, new clarity, new joy, and new chapters that are fully aligned with His heart for you.
Tonight, when the clock turns and the world celebrates, remember that you are crossing the threshold with a God who never sleeps, never leaves, and never stops working on your behalf. Let today be a day of holy closure and hopeful anticipation. Let it be a day where you thank God for every page He has written—and trust Him fully with the pages still blank.
PRAYER
Father, here I am on the final day of this year, standing in a place that feels both reflective and full of promise. Thank You for being my God through every moment of the past twelve months. Thank You for the strength You gave me on days when I felt weak, the peace You provided in moments of worry, and the hope You planted in my heart when circumstances felt uncertain.
On this last day of the year, I also choose to release the things that are not meant to follow me into the new one. I lay down every regret, every disappointment, every hurt, every fear, and every burden I have carried. Cleanse my heart, renew my mind, and restore my spirit. Let this final day be a sacred moment of surrender — a moment where I place the whole year in Your hands and trust You with what I cannot change.
Lord, I welcome Your new work in my life. Open my eyes to perceive what You are doing. Awaken my spirit to the fresh things You are preparing — new strength, new opportunities, new breakthroughs, new joy, and new levels of faith. Help me step into tomorrow with confidence, not because I know what it holds, but because I know Who holds me.
As I close out this year, I ask for Your peace to settle over me, Your presence to surround me, and Your purpose to lead me. Thank You for being my faithful God—yesterday, today, and forever. I step into the new year with gratitude, hope, and complete trust in You.
In the name of Jesus, Amen.
CLOSING
Over the next few moments, simply rest in His presence. You are welcome to offer worship, ask forgiveness, or whisper a request, but take extended time to listen. In the silence, give the Lord the opportunity to speak to you, even if it is just by renewing your spirit that comes from time in His presence.
