Friday - Pray Like This

Jun 26, 2026

Welcome to Daily Prayer. We are in the midst of an 8-week series called PRAY LIKE THIS, where we are journeying through the Lord’s Prayer and believing for Jesus to help us grow in the intimacy of prayer. This week, our focus is on the phrase, “Thy kingdom come,” and today we explore the coming of the future kingdom for which we are being prepared.

We are using a simple acrostic P R A Y, so we will:

Pause and praise

Rejoice and reflect on the scripture

Acknowledge our need and ask for His help and finally

Yield and say Yes to His ways

As we begin, let’s PAUSE and set our focus and affections on the One true King, eternal and almighty. He alone is worthy of our all. Release to Him anything that distracts you. Lord, I give everyone and everything to you. I praise you as my God and my King, the One who reigns for all of eternity with justice and mercy. I enter your gates with thanksgiving and your courts with praise. Worthy is your name, and I lift your name above all that concerns me today.

I choose to REJOICE in the truth that God’s kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, that His dominion is from generation to generation. How I thank you for redeeming me from the curse of sin and making me your own through the shed blood of my Savior Jesus. I declare that my hope is in the Lord, and I lift my vision above my circumstances today, trusting that these momentary afflictions are producing an eternal weight of kingdom glory according to your promises.

A Scripture Reading from Revelation 21:1-5

“Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”

ACKNOWLEDGE & ASK

As we read the Scripture again, be sensitive to any word or phrase the Spirit may be highlighting to you.

YIELD

Father, I say yes to your kingdom and yes to your ways. I look forward to the day when you make all things new. In the meantime, I yield to your kingdom ways. Help me today to live today like a citizen of your eternal kingdom.

Let’s close by praying the Lord’s Prayer together:

“Our Father in heaven,

hallowed be your name,

your kingdom come,

your will be done,

on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us today our daily bread.

And forgive us our debts,

as we also have forgiven our debtors.

And lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from evil.

For yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen
