BREATHE

Summer Time, Fun Time
We had an exciting summer at Breathe!  Summer Camp was held for kids and adults who were out of school. We studied the Beatitudes at camp and enjoyed the new swings that were replaced on the playground!  The new upgrades made our individuals very happy!

PCOM
We recently held an event at PCOM.  We're excited to say that as a result of our event, we now have medical students serving in Breathe on Sundays!

MISSIONS

Storehouse Financial Update
The Storehouse brought in $79,654 this quarter. This puts us $16,300 ahead of last year’s third-quarter total of $179,603, and significantly higher than 2023’s Q3 total of $167,212. We are grateful to see steady year-over-year growth.

Partnerships
We continue to donate weekly to Ponder’s Thrift Store and New Covenant Church in Thomasville, which recently opened their own thrift store to help finance ministry to the homeless. They’ve also received approval for a 501(c)(3) Armstrong Outreach Center, which will provide transitional housing for men, similar to CrossRoads. Pastor Dave and his wife Allie have a deep heart for the homeless, and we are thankful to partner with them—especially since several of our strong Storehouse team members and many of our donations come from Thomasville.

Relief Team
The Storehouse Relief Team served 28 individuals and households this quarter, including several who suffered loss due to house fires.

Management Team
Our 28-member Storehouse Management Team provides oversight in all SH departments. They will gather for an all-day retreat in early October to dream, problem-solve, plan, build team unity, and encourage one another.

Facilities Update
Construction has begun on a new 18’ x 60’ building beside The Storehouse. The majority will be used for storage, with a portion designated for drop-off items. Once completed, the current drop-off house will be removed. We are working with Jared Yost and Dusty Dalton on this project and are thankful for the generous donation of the concrete work.

Highlights
A major highlight this quarter was our 30th Anniversary Celebration on July 27. The weekend focused on missions, with special videos, handouts, and a missions fair in the atrium. We celebrated local, national, and global partnerships, and participation from our partners was excellent, creative, and engaging.

Missions Updates
Johnny Ray and Eddie Seagle recently returned from Honduras, where they distributed over 100 water filters in remote coastal communities. Each family also received training on how to set up and maintain their filter.

Planning is underway for 2026 global mission trips:
  • Seth Berl – building a Honduras Medical Team
  • Clint & Crysti Handfield – leading a Spring Break Next Gen Solohope team (already filled; another June trip being considered)
  • Emily Hall – leading a trip to Turkey to provide kids ministry for Frontier workers serving in the Middle East
  • Eddie Seagle – planning a June Peru mission
  • Johnny Ray – continuing multiple teams for his ongoing water purifier project

Family Worship & Prayer for the World
This fall we launched a new monthly partnership between Missions and Kids Ministry. Families gather in the prayer chapel for worship and intercession focused on one specific country each month. Led by Drew and Kate Krenkel along with several other couples, this gathering is creating a meaningful space for families to grow in global awareness and prayer together.

Advent Devotional
Work has begun on a church-wide Advent Devotional with submissions from our local, national, and global ministry partners. Each devotional will be paired with a ministry profile page, including ways to get involved, contact information, and prayer points. Our hope is that this resource will encourage our church family and deepen awareness of the incredible work our mission partners are doing.

HERITAGE KIDS

New Faces All Around
Preschool Ministry welcomed Bonnie on as PreK director in June so we are blessed to have her focused on this vital ministry!  Bonnie has lead efforts to include catechisms into our weekly plans for kids to learn and solidify key truths.  We have added 18 new adult volunteers and 6 new student volunteers, and we are intentionally building a culture of volunteer hearts for Sunday mornings.

Change For A Change
Our littles enjoyed participating in our change for a change project with a special money drop box just their size designed and built by Forrest Sapp, one of our dads who was baptized at our September baptism day along with his oldest daughter!  We raised a total of $3,370 (plus a little more), and First National Bank also donated $1,500, which brings us to over $5,000!  This money will be used towards a water system and more school support for the school in Guanacaste Honduras led by the ministry of SoloHope.  God multiplied the loaves and fish in our hands and increased the faith of the children among us!

Incredible Events
Our Summer programming  included Science Lab station for learning truths about God through awesome science, and a Missions station called "Flying to Honduras” where kids flew in a cardboard ‘Heritage Airlines’ airplane each week to learn more about our CFAC mission project!  We also had a fun Family Skate day with around 50 in attendance.  We held a  Facebook live with Stephen, Amy & Bonnie called Family Rhythms to encourage families to be intentional with building habits that have eternal impact!

We also held a volunteer appreciation dinner and training, and had new T-shirts for volunteer leaders to remind us all of our vision to lead kids to KNOW, LOVE, & FOLLOW JESUS!

We also held several events, including Family Blessing Fire Night, Kindergarten Move Up,  Jump Up Sunday, and a Family Worship and Prayer for the Nations, led by Kate and Drew Krenkle and their team.

FAM JAM & Family Serve Day
September busted in with FAM JAM, our high-energy, family fun event!  There were about 235 who attended and we saw one precious salvation at the event.  We followed Fam Jam up with Family Serve Day, where 105 people signed up to serve!  These families served at nursing homes, The Hope House, children’s hospital wing, and home visits.

Strengthening Families
Child dedication classes and dedication day were held, with 16 children being dedicated!  Men signed up to be connected with older men in the church for check in and accountability.  That same weekend, Marriage Equipping brought 60 kids into child care allowing their parents to focus on strengthening their marriage. Kids participated in some Bible teaching and had meaningful playtime together.  We're also thankful to say that three children were baptized in September!

Growing The Team
There are so many who serve these kids so well, but we'd like to highlight Leah Gaines, who is leading our Kids Club while parents attend small groups.  We're also thankful for Laura Shanklin, who is an indispensable asset to the kids ministry leadership team.  We are also welcoming Elizabeth Allen for admin assistance specifically for serving the PreK side. We are grateful for a growing team of leadership and are praying for a few more key roles on our team to be filled!

Dreams For The Future
  • Bible Skills Team: Relaunch this fall with a new leader to guide kids in scripture memory, drills, and games during second service.
  • Student Leadership: Develop a training system for 6th–12th graders serving in Kids Ministry.  Add adult “coach” roles (Sydney White, Scotty Green) to mentor students and prevent burnout.
  • Family & Holiday Focus: Host family events that inspire gratitude, service, and meaningful Christmas traditions celebrating God With Us.
  • Operation Christmas Child: Lead kids and families in giving and packing boxes to bless others and pray for recipients.
  • Follow-Up & Discipleship: Strengthen connections with new families and provide better follow-up for information about salvation and baptism.
  • Renovations: Continue Preschool refresh and begin Elementary updates — adding flexible design, a welcoming family meeting space, and a resource wall.  We also would like to upgrade our supply areas with color-coding, shared resources, and volunteer training to improve efficiency and support.
  • Outdoor Fun: Dreaming of a 4-square court, water fountain, swings, and improved kickball area to create more joy and connection outdoors.

PRAYER & PASTORAL CARE

Loving Through Our Grief
During this quarter, our church came together to serve and care for the Benner family as we grieved the loss of Randy. The family was blessed through a beautiful lunch at South Venue, as well as countless expressions of love through meals, visits, and calls during this season of loss. The Storehouse team also provided a meal for Pat Gordon’s family following the passing of her brother. Other members experiencing loss were ministered to with cards, gift cards, flowers, or plants—depending on the need.

In addition to walking with grieving families, Pastoral Care supported 44 members in crisis this quarter. Of these:
  • 20 people received dedicated prayer ministry.
  • 6 people were referred to counseling.
  • 18 people received inner healing prayer ministry.

Pastoral Care continues to be strengthened through the efforts of our small groups and serving teams, which are caring well for many in our congregation. Brad and Michelle continue to give significant time to pastoral care and counseling, and our Executive Staff Team is also contributing meaningfully. Dawn provides leadership by coordinating pastoral efforts, keeping pastors, small group leaders, and team life leaders updated on needs, and ensuring that care is extended effectively.

Prayer Ministry
The culture of prayer continues to be strengthened in our church. We are grateful for the many opportunities and avenues of prayer—including Dwell, Sunday Night Fire, Sunday morning prayer room, prayer walks, and inner healing prayer ministry.
This quarter, Dawn led a “Back to School Prayer Walk” before the school year began. Twelve people gathered at CA Gray to pray, and twenty-five participated at CCHS. Both principals welcomed our team, opening their schools and inviting us to freely walk and pray throughout the buildings. It was a powerful time of intercession for students, teachers, and the year ahead.

  • This summer, about 18 members of the prayer team met weekly to read and discuss Freedom Tools. These gatherings were fruitful times of sharpening best practices for inner healing prayer and building unity among the team.
  • While inner healing prayer has continued informally, we are now moving toward a more structured approach again. After the summer study, Sandee and Jerry Kimbrell were affirmed as leaders of the Inner Healing Prayer ministry. The team currently consists of 12 members.
  • Over the next few months, we will focus on reestablishing a strong foundation as Sandee steps into scheduling and team members serve in various roles.
  • Beginning in January, we plan to recruit and train additional members, with a special focus on bringing more men onto the team.
  • Inner Healing Prayer will be housed in the rooms on the left side of the East House, while Formation Counseling will continue using the rooms on the right. Minor reconfigurations will be made to optimize the space.

We are excited about the renewed direction of this ministry and the opportunities ahead as we prepare to expand the IHP training as well as equipping other prayer ministry people with some more tools.

PROPERTY MANAGEMENT

Upgrades For Kids
Preschool spaces are being revamped, and our repainting has been completed. Next we plan to add elements for a delightful environment to bring peace and fun to the space.  Closet spaces are being added, and a space for Team Life volunteers will be available soon. This change including a new doorway to the community room will allow elementary leaders quick access to the restroom as well as provide a common space for leader huddles and prayer for both prek and elementary which will help us feel like one unified ministry.  This space can also be versatile and used for a kids group  if needed for overflow.  We've also made additions to the kitchen area, as well as updated electrical and storage to the nursery.

Routine Maintenance
There have been a few repairs around campus, including some basic light maintenance such as pressure washing, AC repairs, Ice Machine Repairs, and plumbing.  Changes were made to the photo system that regulates when exterior lights turn on at dusk and turn off.

Prayer Chapel
Prayer Chapel Renovations are currently underway, and we're excited to share updates on this project.  We should have more information next quarter.

Upgrades Around The Campus
Shrubs were removed from North Campus section because of decay.  Rocks were added from South Venue to Gene Mcqueen to create new driveway for better traffic flow and parking for events that use the South Venue space.  We've also made upgrades to the exit ditch at Gene Mcqueen Drive as well as the South Campus drainage ditch.  Pinestraw was recently tinted/dyed as an experiment to prolong life of the straw between replacement.  Plans are underway to repurpose one or two of the counseling rooms inside East campus house into Inner Healing Rooms and One to One Rooms.

SUNDAY AM

What, No Words?
We have needed to replace the rear projector for our confidence display, which is what our worship team and speakers use for lyrics and sermon notes.   This projector was the original unit from around 2006 and is now failing.  All new cabling and mount are required for the replacement.

Guest Wi-Fi
Changes have been made to our guest Wi-Fi network to help make it both secure and more accessible to users.  This change allows people to get on the private guest network during normal operation hours without having to click any extra buttons.  The Guest Wi-Fi network will then automatically disable itself after normal operation hours to keep our connection more secure.

Daily Prayer - The Studio
We have temporarily transformed one of our spaces into a recording studio for producing online guided prayer recordings.  These recordings have been a huge blessing for our church, and we're glad to be able to provide a little space for their creation.

SUNDAY SUPPORT &
DISCIPLESHIP PATHWAY

Baptism Sunday Vision
We've created a celebration wall in the Baptism Room to help give a visual of just how special Baptism Sunday's are!  We are on target to baptize over 20 people by the end of September!

Church Safety
Our Safety Team is better equipped after participating in an 8-hr training with "Protect His House." The team worked through several scenarios in different parts of our church, helping them to get a better understanding of what we should be aware of on Sunday morning. We were excited to share this training with some friends from nearby churches in our community.

Discover Heritage
Thanks to Discover Heritage, we have onboarded 7 more Guest Experience volunteers to the team this quarter!

Go Pack Go
After providing a delicious breakfast to the Colquitt County Packers the morning of the first games, Sunday Support believes we helped lead them to a victory. 135 players and coaches were served a delicious Dalton's breakfast by some of our Sunday Support team. Student ministry provided worship, a morning devotional and some fun. This is always a joy to be part of!

Laveta and Stephen helped to provide lunch to the Colquitt County 50th Regiment Band. Stephen offered a wonderful word of encouragement and Joe Kem's provided the barbeque.

Newcomers
Our Visitor Connect Team personally welcomed nine newcomers to our church!  We have big dreams for our visitors, and are helping them to feel welcomed as well as inviting them to get connected.

Happy Holidays
We are already planning for the Holidays with our annual celebrations, Friendsgiving and our Christmas Gathering!  The Atrium Creative Team is already thinking through how to make our Atrium festive and meaningful for Christmas.
