Friday - Don't Lose Heart (Faith)
Welcome to daily prayer. We are in a three week series called "Don't Lose Heart" focused on cultivating a life of faith, hope, and love. Today we rejoice that the Lord watches over those who trust in him. He is our hope.
As we begin our prayer now, let’s quiet our hearts and minds before the Lord.
Lord, I place my hope in you today. I surrender everything grabbing for my heart and I set aside everything grabbing for my attention. I give everyone and everything to you.
O Lord, open my eyes that I would see wonderful things in your Word:
A Scripture Reading from Psalm 33:16-22
No king is saved by the size of his army;
no warrior escapes by his great strength.
A horse is a vain hope for deliverance;
despite all its great strength it cannot save.
But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear him,
on those whose hope is in his unfailing love,
to deliver them from death
and keep them alive in famine.
We wait in hope for the Lord;
he is our help and our shield.
In him our hearts rejoice,
for we trust in his holy name.
May your unfailing love be with us, Lord,
even as we put our hope in you.
A Prayer of Adoration
Lord, I adore you as my help and my shield. You are my hope. You are my deliverer. Your eyes are on those who fear you, and you notice every heart that places their hope in you. I worship you for your faithfulness. I honor you for your power. I adore you for your persistent care for those who trust in you.
A Prayer of Confession
Lord, I confess how often I've trusted in my own strength, my own resources, or the ability of others. Forgive me for placing hope in things that cannot save. I acknowledge my dependence on you and turn away from vain hopes today.
A Prayer of Trust
Lord, I trust that your eyes are on me. You deliver and protect. I wait in hope for you, rejoicing that you are my help, my shield, and the one who preserves me in trials. I wait for you.
A Prayer of Intercession
Lord, keep watch over those who are in danger, provide for them in their needs, and surround them with your unfailing love.
May they put their hope fully in you and experience the peace that comes from being seen and cared for by you.
A Moment of Reflection
Lord, the psalmist says we rejoice because we trust in your holy name. Is there any area of my life where I’m being robbed of joy because I’m not trusting you with it?
We wait for you Lord.

A Closing Prayer
El Roi, we hope in you. Help us live in the confidence of your watchful care, putting our hope fully in you. May our words, actions, and attitudes reflect the love and protection that we have received from you.
Lord, you are our hope. You are our salvation. Use us today to direct others to your hope.
